Pearlstone shower tray B&Q

Good afternoon Houzzers.
Does anyone have a Pearlstone brand shower tray supplied by B&Q? Our local store doesn't have any examples and I'm keen to see a close up photo of the surface texture. Our builder says we need to order shower tray ASAP but I get nervous ordering online something I've never seen in real life.

Anything ordered from a company online can be returned within 28 days (check B&Q returns policy) without a reason. You usually have 14 to advise them of a return then another 14 days to actually return it. This is from date of receipt of item. If an item is not how you expected, Distance Selling Laws state you can return it and get a refund. It’s the law as you are buying unseen. I know you probably don’t want the faff but you can return it to the store if that is easier, rather like you do with clothes.

Had a quick look at B&Q returns policy and it’s very good. Just return to store with original packaging within 90 days. That’s if you need to of course!

Thanks for all the comments, they are much appreciated. I am going to try and answer everyone! I think I have a plan outined at the bottom of the following comments/replies. @clofty24 - yes a sliding door was considered but it would either take more room out of the bathroom or consist of major work outside the door. @lottie27111975 @karrrla @tryphic - walk in shower/wet room would be ideal but would require quite a lot of work and as its upstairs been advised against it. Although im getting a second opinion from a local tiler soon. @Ensign Accessories I just photographed at a bad time, most of the time its not so cluttered. However it is the only space to store a lot of the stuff, so hence the many storage options. Corner unit is a no go because the room has no available corners (shower, window, door, toilet). @Rachel FitzGerald I think the toilet needs to stay where it is due to the plumbing of the large waste pipe and the fact my walls are 1.2m thick! @baxterh the back wall doesnt go onto the landing its inside the other bedroom but replacing the wall is currently not an option. Nice idea though :-) @Sharon Boughedda The matching tiles is a good idea, I was only going to tile the shower area and paint the rest a teal colour. But the floor could defo match. I think im going for a unit top sink, but place it partly on the windowsill (which is huge) and partly on a new unit. The window is huge so adds lot of light during the day. @kittihawke I think moving the doors is unworkable unfortunately as that would make more room. i hate the floor tiles so might have to have another look at ripping them up! @jonathandb1972 the window is an original sash window and it would be criminal to block it off I feel. Plus it gives the bathroom a lot of light which helps to alleviate the size issue a bit. Velux isnt possible due to loft above. I think im going to put in 760x900 quadrant shower, with a frameless design so its less imposing. The toilet will stay where it is but with a back wall toilet onto a hidden cistern. Two 500mm cabinets next to each other one with the toilet and another with the sink on top, and worktop on top of the cabinets which goes back and over the windowsill too. The sink will then be half on the cabinet and half on the windowsill (which is big). B+Q are the only place I have found which seem to do slimline cabinets which will make it all fit. Im trying to find a bit of planning software that includes B+Q items and also allows me to include the windowsill!! The tap to the sink will be to the side of the basin so all the plumbing can be in the under cabinet.

Hello. If you are stuck for space, you might consider a quadrant shower enclosure which has a smaller footprint than a square or rectangular one - then get the largest one that will fit comfortably. We usually install Matki but look at Bathroom Heaven (we fitted one of their quadrant showers recently), or generally search for quadrant showers on line. The good thing about those suggested here are that they have minimal frames, so look cool, and come with a low profile shower tray. If you want to pop to a local shop and check out some features, Bathstore usually has several available, and a B&Q superstore will usually have 20 or so set up. I'm sure you will have laid out the space on a floor plan, so the remaining thing to check is how the door operates: in a confined space, you might choose a sliding door (or doors) as opposed to one that hinges. Regarding the valve and overhead shower and / or handset, you will be faced with either a concealed valve (generally more expensive both in parts and labour) or an exposed valve. The image above has a concealed valve (from Hansgrohe), but I suspect you will be choosing an exposed model if space is a little more confined for the pipework; the one in the image below (ignore the bath) is from Vado and you can see that the valve mixer, and attachments come as one unit which makes things simpler. Both are reputable makes. Hope this helps for now

Thanks for the comments. The bathroom is next door so we can feed into the soil pipe there. The wall where toilet and sink are in the plan above is an outside wall. I don’t think there’s really much else we can do given where it is in the room etc. I’ve attached a plan of the upstairs - you can see the bedroom (with previous small shower and sink. I am aware of not having enough space for knees which is why I think we need to go for a 700 x 900 shower tray and a short projection toilet to give us those few extra mm. I think Sarah’s plan would work? We’re going to draw out some stuff on the floor in there today now that it’s all ripped out and use a chair for a toilet to visualise it!

Hi, thanks for the replies. We had a look at putting the bath on the opposite wall but it made it feel quite tight between the shower on the left and bath in front when you walk in. I'll have a look at putting the sink on the right hand wall, would be good to have a bit more storage. I like the look of the shower Kay. What sort of enclosure is that? it's the sort of thing were after. Did the customer find a lot of water ended up on the floor?

It has been delivered and we're happy with it, phew! Just hope there's no accidents once the builder gets his hands on it!
