Will a brushed nickel tap look v different to stainless steel?
Comments (28)I like No2 simply because the end nozzle looks as though it has fewer grooves and other kitchen yuck catching spots - lol, that's just me. Quality-wise, have you copied and pasted the item names into a search engine, added the word 'reviews' and hit enter? I do that a lot on things I find on Amazon, and I've seen a lot of those things skyrocket in price only because as 5* rave reviews increase the seller (including items sold by Amazon) bumps the price up accordingly. Running a 'Net search brings back interesting results (verifying or negating the rave Amazon reviews) and I've seen good comparison sites - sometimes the price is so good I then do a search on reviews of the better priced non-Amazon seller. Surprise, surprise, some of those better priced sellers have very bad reviews for items arriving broken and Customer Service less than helpful. Agree with the others that when it comes to taps it pays to pay to avoid being hit with another purchase far sooner than expected, but I have to say I found a hand wash basin on Amazon for two thirds of RRP, no reviews - we took a chance and that basin is gorgeous. Came with everything needed, installed like a dream. The gamble worked out splendidly for us. And the day after I reviewed it, the seller bumped the price £15, lol! Still a bargain, people are buying it (and giving it rave reviews like mine) even though every time a new rave review is posted the price bumps up another £10-£15....See MoreAnyone got any good ideas for making an ex council house look cool?
Comments (61)I live in the Scottish Borders and three years ago there was a government incentive to externally insulate the houses. Due to the construction of the houses (poured concrete they couldn’t have cavity wall insulation ) . The difference to the heating bills is unbelievable but the look of the house is fabulous as there was new render put on new window sills and down pipes .i agree with the comment that just doing one house would stand out like a sore thumb but it just takes one to start the ball rolling . Maybe speak to your neighbours and they may want to do the same . All the houses in my street had the cladding and it has transformed the look of the street . I have since revamped my lounge and kitchen. There was nothing wrong with the kitchen cupboards so they where painted ,new work tops and sink . I did have a breakfast bar that took up a lot of room which I have replaced with a glass table . My next project is my bedroom which is getting refitted with new wardrobes and draws . Ex local authority houses are well built and have big rooms , they are worth buying as you can do so much with them ,I have bigger cupboards than the rooms that are in some new builds . This is my kitchen, it is so much lighter and more space . The back board is the same as the work top , so no tiles to grout ....See MoreSink on kitchen island - how to make it look tidy?
Comments (2)Adding a slide over surface could help hide things in the sink ? Either a wooden or composite type surface that's larger than the sink but doesn't interfere with the tap (and new soap dispenser ) try TK Maxx or similar for a good selection of wooden and composite type chopping boards maybe ? Adding a hanging rail for dish cloths over a washing up bowl stored in the under sink cabinet might keep things handy - and can be rinsed and emptied as an when needed . A large jug can look pretty and hide a washing up liquid bottle too perhaps ?...See MoreTo go 50s or not to go 50s
Comments (34)Hi, if this is a investment property (not your forever home) then whatever you do has to be an enhancement of the property to maximise your return, most property's are sold by the kitchen & bathroom !!! ( excluding location) If you take out the suite and try to sell it I think you would be surprised by how little value is left on it, now picture this left in the house when selling........ you are cutting your prospective buyers down as the que up for the ready to walk into house next door with the new bathroom/.kitchen ect Anyway if you look back at your own ideas pics I think you have made your own mind up as all your ideas are clean straight, white & bright !!...See MoreJP L
