Hi there, the black shoe cabinets are from Ikea. It's called the Trones shoe cabinet https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/trones-shoe-storage-cabinet-black-80397313/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwi46iBhDyARIsAE3nVra1_s5tHQpTDPG4BkPhDUS4DLlfcv8CYKdxRsB4XdAvmYM8n8qLH2UaAgTCEALw_wcB. We added a piece of oak wood on the top to make it look custom.

Hello christjne, I am just getting a few images for you.. Hold on.. Oka do some that are rather good.. Also their faux flower collection is really good. This one is from them and also their velvet in Porridge and Pale Sage could be nice along with Mole colour and Caviar is one they have too that would work possibly... .. There is also the option of throws and they have one in Mole and you could also think of stones and other shades of earthy tones... Group with 1 plain mole colour to give accent but I'd say 1 of each together on 1 or 2 sides and a throw or two for the sofa.. You may find some others you like too.. They also have Mirrors and the Cesario large could be very nice, it has a nice bevelled frame with dark wood and accent of gold that would be gr8 with the dark sofa.. All depends on budget as I have many more suggestions including antiques but for something under the one roof as it were... : ))

Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up your living area I think a select piece of art would really make the room stand out, add interest and add a great talking point to the room.... Side return extension kitchen/diner layout

Hi- I could have written this post myself! We too are having a partial side return resulting in an L shape layout. Our overall length is a bit shorter (5 vs your 6), but with the side return ours will be wider at 3.1m and 6m wide. Getting the layout right is so hard! We’ve decided to keep our formal dining room as is, and the kitchen in its existing galley type shape. We will have a peninsula come out at the top end to form bar seating for the kids/guests. The “old fence side” of the new area will have a toilet room and a laundry cupboard for the washer and dryer. I’m having the kitchen designed so that anything a guest/kid/non cook might need is towards the front, eg fridge, snack cupboard, window fridge, cutlery, trash receptacle etc. I am hoping that keeps everyone out of the cook’s zone, aka my way! I want to make the peninsula wide enough so it can feel more like a kitchen table, and be a comfortable spot for the kid’s homework too.
