which varnish to use (floorboard)

Hello,

Had to replace a floorboard recently and need to varnish/stain it to match the colour of the others. Original floorboards that were stained/varnished (not sure) about 3 years ago but that company have since closed, otherwise would have asked what product they used.

Any ideas? I have a spare piece I can experiment on.
