Advise please! What can I do with this wall space?
Comments (7)Hello, I'm not sure where exactly would you like to add shelves, above the stairs or side walls? At the moment it looks like an empty canvas and it's true that you can do lots with this space. If I was you I would consider adding a large framed artwork, multiple framed images, mirror, wallpaper, lighting design or a colourful carpet for the stairs. Comments (6)We've just fitted a Gotham 900 electric fire from Flamerite. We had a gas fire but didn't often use it as we don't really need extra heating in the room so it was just dark and lifeless. This fire has a great flame effect which can be used without heat, but it can also pump out heat when needed. It looks very like the long fire in the photo - but the one in the photo looks like gas. We wanted a gas fire with lights so that it could glow when it wasn't turned on but apparently very few gas fires do this as, when the fire is turned on, it blows the bulbs! Comments (7)I wonder if this would work, depends on the dimensions of the room of course. I 'shopped' at IKEA and the knitted poufs are from Amazon. IKEA's cork pot stands are fun to stick on the wall and use them as memo boards. You could do that above the desks. Between the desks (if it fits) you could put a narrow bookcase. The dining table you can fold away, chairs double up as desk chairs. The other bookcase you can put on its side and use as a TV stand. Comments (6)Optimal hanging space for clothes on hangers is 60cm if you're hanging clothes straight and don't want them to rub up against walls, doors, etc. So, with 1.5m depth and 1m width, I'd be tempted to hang a rail from the front to the back, not side to side, and also put the rail on its own slider rail so that the whole rail of hangers can pull out into the room for easy access to clothes at the back. Hang this off-centre, left or right, and on the other side fasten coat hooks in a diagonally spaced grid over the upper 2 thirds of the side wall. With a 2m x 1m rear wall, I would install foot locker style boxing in a matrix of 6 rows, 3 columns, approximately 35cm deep. Lockers that you don't use for shoes can be used for socks, undies, t shirts, etc. Do let me know if you'd like me to mock up a drawing of this for you....See Moremytwo cents
