How to decor the corner of living room?

I have two corners in my living room. So, one is spacious but the other has no space at all. I have a L shaped couch over that corner so it looks very dull and feels like something is missing. I have no idea how to decorate this space or make it look aesthetic? Should i introduce contrast or hanging floor lamp or anything? Or should i paint the corner? Throw me some ideas please🙂.

Do you have enough space to pull the sofa away from the wall and then place a floor lamp behind it? This worked well for me. You could also put more pictures on the walls closer to the

I would place a floor lamp in that corner, or a side table with a table lamp. You will have to pull the sofa out a bit. I have lamps in every corner as I hate just one overhead light in a room and they create cosiness.

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions this is really inspiring! I've been looking into shutters but would like something softer around the window too, maybe voiles or something. I love all the attached pictures, where can I buy it all? I also really wanted to add something bold with the Greek key pattern but I haven't found anything I like yet. I love Greek and Roman styles, gods and gladiators and holidays in Europe have been my inspiration for the wall I wanted to bring it all to my living room in rainy England to cheer my up on those dull days! Any ideas how I can add the greek key pattern? I don't have any more pictures with me but the room flows through to a dining area/extended seating area at the end with patio doors on to the garden. Its an extension so we have an arch between the rooms with ceramic up lights under the arch. This end of the room is still white. I would gratefully receive ideas for this end of the room too.

Thank you all for your replies. Sorry I didn't take the time to answer earlier. I get what you meant by the overpowering wall unit but unfortunately we can't move it. There's a hole in the wall behind the top part of it for all the wires connecting the different media boxes to the TV. And we had younger children at that time so we didn't want them to access it. Sometimes we had to make choices between aesthetic and functionality/childproof within our family's requirements. I know professionals would have been able to find a better compromise but at that time, we tried to do everything ourselves Your comments definitely opened our eyes, and I like the different options proposed. I like the ideas of multiples paintings/ frames, that respect the tones of cushions/sofa rather than one massive piece of art. It's really hard to visualise beforehand. Which application do you use to add virtual decoration/painting on a existing pictures please ? It really helps! I've attached a picture of my living room at a different angle (from entrance), you can see there's still lots to do to make it an harmonious! But in our crazy daily life, I'm fine with it for now, as we appreciate to have cosy family time there and quality time doesn't need hight standard finish. Meanwhile I can't stand the look of the AC unit above the window (it was there when we bought the house). But between us, I was glad when we had the hot weather last week. The living room was the only fresh room in the house and my children ended up camping in it to have a nice good night sleep Best regards to all

How about a giant recycled glass vase or bottle filled with fairy lights or better still a group of three. Since recycled glass is imperfect it will reflect the lights beautifully. You can also add other things in with the lights as well for a more subtle feel. Some artificial silk petals would look lovely. Also have a look on eBay or Etsy for vintage finds. I agree with the fairy light trees, I think they look a bit plasticky. Hope you find something lovely, plus the cat looks very comfy there:)

Hi Tanjina, Have you considered to dedicate that corner to a bigger bonsai tree? Regards the mirrors, I think the first option would be great, I think we can safely hang it just behind the TV. We may print any kind of the mirror with the Disney/Pixar etc. theme that your children like. Let me know if you are interested and I will schedule a call for you with our advisor.

Some floor lamps are very slim, so one could possibly fit in the corner. You have a socket there already. Or how about some shelving?

So guys see this is my living room, i really feel like the walls are just not it.. but i dont want to change the color, instead design a room based on it. What should i place on the corner where there is a lamp? Its kinda plain, just a lamp. And are there any ways how can i make this look cozy? We ofc are changing the rug's cover hehe.

I think having the chair face the sofa would help, bring it forward and angle towards the sofa for conversation. i’d also turn the rug the other way. You could expand your photo gallery wall (consider lighter frames such as oak)and add a vase of stems on the table. Add a textured throw (varying texture/material makes rooms feel cosy) on the end of the chaise. You can also get plug in wall lights for over the LhS of the sofa.

I hope it doesn’t sound rude but i feel the walls are the biggest issue but can’t quite work out the trunking, panelling and lintels?
