I know this isn't what you asked for but if you don't like the colour way then sell the curtains on ebay and do the room in colours of your choice. Your new curtains needn't be expensive.

What do you think of these the lady is going to send me a swatch of fabric she seems to think they are a grey cream rather than yellow so could be good maybe ? My only concern is I like a medium tone wood colour but I think that would work don't like too matchy matchy .

There are so many variables when it comes to colour which is why it's complicated. When two opposite colours are next to each other they look more colourful, they exagerate each other. This can work well but can also look discordant and a bit off. Value is really important here. Value is how light or dark something is, regardless of colour or hue. In my bathroom, the wall tiles have a definite red/violet hue to them although they are a greyish neutral. My floor tiles are yellow/green grey and small area of textured slate wall tiles are yellow green too. However, these yellow green tiles are darker in value so it works, if they were lighter (see bottom image with paint sample) the value is reduced so the hue difference dominates, it looks a bit discordant, the darker hues work better. We do all of this intuitively and that's how it should be, we know when something works and when it doesn't. The main issue that complicates colour is language, calling things 'easy' or 'architectural' is nice but doesn't really help does it : )
