After waiting 2 weeks from January order of oak window sill, ledge shelves and flat shelves that arrived 4 months later, then another month for fitter to find half a day to fit us in... TOMORROW'S THE DAY. And we're ready. Might even get some 'after' photos on here.

My mum is buying a brand new house with a brand new kitchen but we are lucky and are in a position to put a much better kitchen in. Like you my Mum doesn’t like waste, tried to sell it but nobody wants it at the time that she needs it removing so it is going in a skip. I think it is very unusual to find someone who needs exactly the units you have as it is a product designed for a very specific space.

Another suggestion for you......adhesive vinyl roll! Specifically, that made by DC Fix. We used a textured metallic finish inside a kitchen cabinet as part of it’s transformation into a bar cabinet. I found it easy to use and very forgiving for repositioning etc. We bought ours from vinyl warehouse but lots of places sell it. If you check out the DC Fix website they have it on bathroom sinks, kitchen cabinets, worktops etc. I’m not sure if they have different levels of quality but I’m sure you could check easily. I just scrubbed an off-cut of ours with the rough side of a bathroom sponge and it didn’t scuff it. Without seeing the room it is very hard to picture what would go, but blues, greys and whites do tone well with rich woods or the paler woods. I think you can mix woods as long as they are similar in tone, but too much of a mish mash of woods can look odd. I have dark oak laminate floors and oak tv cabinet and side tables. I did have some ginger pine bookcases but I’ve painted them instead as it was a bit too orange! I like this picture which is wood overload and still beautiful:-
