How do you prepare your home for spring?
Comments (10)Swap out the throw pillows and throw blanket on the sofa. Bring out the patio cushions. Open the doors and windows. Put up a hammock. Build an outdoor garden room. Seed the lawn, stain the patio, stain the fence, paint the house trim, powerwash the roof, wash the windows, hook up the hoses, clean out the garage, have a garage sale, get the driveway sealed... I have had cabin fever and am ready to rumble;))...See MoreSelling Home - New Kitchen Benchtop?
Comments (3)Given that you are moving and this is to help a sale I would just go safe and cheap with laminate worktop. I would go white with the worktop, it would be on trend and I think it would modernise your kitchen immediately. I think the cupboards in your kitchen are actually very nice and will work for a modern country kitchen look. If you can cover the tiles, it would make a bigger difference. Again, I would go cheap with splash back panels over the tiles, IKEA do these for £25 a panel. If you keep the tiles, you just need to make sure that the worktop works with them, if tiles are cream then I wouldn't go with a white worktop, something off white or cream would be better but I would keep it light. Good luck whatever you decide!...See MoreHouse won't sell!
Comments (24)Interesting comments here. We work very closely with property developers to help them place the right level of 'lifestyle-technology' in their properties to meet the expectations of the prospects that either travel to have a house-viewing or even buy off plan. Some of the more affordable successes we've seen have included: A small lighting controller to do scenes in the high footfall areas [kitchen/sitting/master-bed]. Check out: Lightwave comes with an app and can be programmed WiFi: get this everywhere with well placed access points, this will appeal to prospective family owners Door entry: try a new WiFi doorbell that has an app. Try Ring Home cinema: have you seen how cheap you can buy a cinema set up for? Drop into John Lewis or a electrical retailer All you are doing is delivering a measured 'wow-factor' that reflects the potential lifestyles BUT talking about this in all your promotional material: "never come home to a dark house" - "Holiday mode" - "WiFi everywhere" ...and so on. Good luck...See MoreSelling your home? Here are my top home staging tips!
Comments (7)A house is your biggest asset so selling it in perfect condition is the way to get the best price. The photos need to be crisp and lit well, so pick a time for the photographer to come round when light is at its best and put on every lamp and light. As the first picture online is the front of your house make sure the grass or garden is well kept and clean. Make sure the car is not in the frame to make it look bigger. Throughly cleaning every nook, window and tile, if chrome or brass then make it shine, hire a carpet cleaner for the day. I don’t think you need a professional property stager to do the above unless you want to avoid elbow grease....See Morekarensmith101
