Which walls for a wallpaper feature wall?

We are looking to decorate our (last remaining) spare bedroom, and after some advice.

Room is ~3x4m, with the obvious feature wall being the wall at the back of the room (3m). The window is on the left wall (looking from the landing doorway), facing north, though is a reasonably large size. The bed is facing the window with the rear against the right wall (previously was against the rear wall but we fancied a change, and quite like it).

Here is a picture (from Zoopla, showing it before we moved in) taken from just inside the doorway;

We will certainly paper the end (rear) wall, but im wondering whether we should do the side (right) wall (behind the bed), or whether that would look silly with 2 walls papers and the others plain. Alternatively, we thought we could paper the rear wall and the wall facing it (e.g. around the doorway) - but again not sure if this may look strange.

Wallpaper of choice looks likely to be either Ohpopsi or Graham & Brown, the latter of which will almost perfectly go with a half tin of spare paint we had from our (north facing) dining room, which looks ace.

I'd be grateful for any thoughts/advice.

Both of the wallpapers you have selected are very active vibrant patterns in quite dominant colours. As the wallpaper is very lively I would keep it behind the bed. I know this is a guest room but do you plan to use it for any other purpose like a study when you do not have guests?

Thanks. Not currently - we have a study downstairs. Its essentially only for guests - though it also has the Peloton in so i guess for working out too.

Thank you. the current tiles in there are really quite big - much bigger than this size on the paper. To be honest I'm trying to do as much cosmetic improvement to the house as possible using as little money as possible so I hadn't thought of removing the bottom tiles and doing that whole wall with this paper but yes I think that would look good, much better than doing half. I imagine we could remove the current tiles ourselves but would then get someone in to re plaster that bit of wall? If so, how long is it before you can paper a newly plastered wall?

Work finally finished. Still to put stuff on the shelves etc but after months of living in a building site we are getting there! Went for white behind the shelves and putting the colour in the sofa and cushions instead. Photo as promised. I need advice on a rug but will post separately as I am unsure if these updates bump the post up the list or not.

Thanks ... This was my thinking Coralina ... as it’s a long wall and the radiator will be moved to under the window. If I keep the fireplace wall white ... I can then maybe put a big mirror over the fire and/or selection of framed prints etc to the right . Maybe ....

I'd agree that the whole wall may be too much. Either paper the alcoves or just the chimney breast. The selected wallpapers are very strong for a bedroom so I would limit to a single wall.

The wall behind the bed would be my choice. Wallpaper on all walls can be a tad heavy.

Thanks all.

Just to be clear the bed is currently facing the window, not up against the rear wall. So not sure if best to paper the rest wall or side wall, or both...

If you must, only one wall. If doing two walls you should do all four walls. Two walls doesn't make sense and just looks like a half-done job. To make it a proper feature rather than a randomly wallpapered wall, it should be the wall behind the bed, so I'd finalise the bed position and then do the appropriate wall. If you do the 3m wall and keep the bed on the 4m wall, it'll look like you wallpapered and then realised the bed was better on the other wall i.e. it will look wrong - unless that wall then becomes a different purpose which makes sense (like aforementioned study for example).

Hi Steve! Love this idea - as wallpaper experts, we say the wall behind the bed. If you're looking to create a focal point it will be the first thing people see when they walk into the room or if you want it as a feature wall maybe a minimalistic wallpaper would fit nicely here. We've added some examples
