How do you get the tile to shine so much?

The Carrara basket weave tiles I've seen don't seem to have this shine..

This is a polished basketweave. We have both honed (matte) and polished available.

Correct it is a polished finish. We sell both honed and polished. So on our website you see two identical product side by side, one is honed and one is polished. The bathroom looks spectacular, the base on the Carrara is nice and white giving a great look.

Hi Louise, this is a really interesting discussion, thank you for sharing and looks like it was a great feature! Me personally, I think the secret of my success is being passionate and loving what I do. Then everything else follows naturally! To achieve a work/life balance I have to be quite strict with myself, and recognise I need time to relax to be at my best. I am currently really inspired by the Scandinavian lifestyle - my boyfriend is Danish and I am trying to learn more about 'Hygge'. It's all about being comfortable, getting cosy and appreciating the little things such as a hot cup of coffee and lighting candles. That being said, with Summer approaching I'm excited to start spending more time outdoors - pretty sunsets always inspire me and make me feel good!

Hi Emily, I recently had a Velux 14” rigid tube one installed in my shower room which has no windows. It is brilliant and lets in plenty of light even on an overcast day. The light fitting gives a similar level of light at night. The cost depends a lot on the amount of tube needed - mine was £450 from roofing superstore who were really helpful and gave lots of advice. I can’t say about fitting as it was part of a bigger job, but was apparently easy for my builder to fit within a day and wasn’t done as part of re-roofing. The 1st photo is with the door closed and no flash.

Units/parallel island/dining table - how much width do you need?

Ok, so I have attached a few pics that I have created on the homebyme website. Pics show the floorplan and a possible room layout. This is to be a kitchen/diner. The space is currently there, it just is 2 separate rooms at the moment and we will be removing walls to create this space. Top wall in pic is 5m, of which will be 3.6 m sliding doors to garden. We originally had island parallel to the run of units along the left side wall. We have now rotated so it is perpendicular to the run of units. Behind island is staircase, underneath which will be fully built in, units to include fridge freezer and larder. The distance I have allowed between the back of the island and the understairs storage is 1.2m, would this be enough should there be someone sitting at a stool, and would I still be able to open a cupboard behind? Any suggestions more than welcome! The left side wall is 4.55m til the doorway, this run of units needs to include sink and cooker and at the end I have put in the pic full height tall unit to hold washing machine and boiler. I would like a bit of symmetry with that run of units, but just been playing about with it tonight! Could this work? Thanks for looking!
