Cordless table lamps

Does anyone have any idea where/if you can buy nice rechargeable battery table lamps in the UK? I'm after something quite classical in design which seems impossible to find.

Hello,I bought a couple of Dovenden's "compact" lamps,take a look at www.dovenden.com

The lamps have a very nice solid well built feel to them.You get 12 hours or more on full brightness,much longer on the lower settings.

I have both including a stunning floor lamp that I wouldn't be without. It gives the whole room a soft glow from a dark corner and I have it on all day. The table lamps and lanterns, together with candles in the evening, make the room a wonderful space for relaxing. The lanterns by the fireside are surprisingly effective - a string of fairy lights wound around a silver birch log and placed inside a lantern. I've added moss, beads and some woodland creatures in one of them - quite magical! BTW I covered the lampshades too!

I assume you have ŵall lights already? I don't know what your style is but you could try an arc lamp, laura Ashley I think does a more traditonal one if you don't want something too contemporary looking. Or have a look at cordless table lamps, you may find one suitable. Or can you have a string of lights attached to a beam or something? A pic may help

Hi there, Considering how low your ceilings are, I would suggest placing spot lights strategically rather than in a grid formation. This means placing the lights in the right places and where you would need them. I also recommend a dimmer switch. Lighting is really important in the home if you are getting your ceiling plastered then I recommend you get this right first time as it extremely difficult/messy to move lighting once your ceiling has been done! I can provide you with a lighting plan according to your living room dimensions and furniture and can offer you a low cost option.
