From dark and dilapidated to light and luxurious...help!
Comments (11)Thank you for commenting :) , I haven't actually started these yet due to work getting in the way :/ ... I'm in two minds now with what to do with them.... I never envisioned them actually fitting in with the colour scheme and other furniture in my bedrooms without lightening them up first? I will take your comments on board and try to be as sympathetic to their age as I possibly can do. I do believe that they are in fact the real thing, they are of fantastic quality and built to a very high standard. I'll keep y'all posted on what I end up doing with them and how I place them. Again thanks....See Morelight laminate flooring vs dark laminate flooring
Comments (4)Hi Pauline, We think a subtle grey shade would work well in your space, helping to break up the cream and brown while playing off the duck egg blue. We imagine something in-between light and dark is what you could go for - have a think about something like our Nordic Oak: https://woodpeckerflooring.co.uk/product/wembury-nordic-oak/ What colour is your furniture? Comments (11)Verdon is a lovely shade and will look great for the walls and the cabbage white will work well for ceilings and coving but it doesn't look as if you have a lot of natural light coming into the hallway so I would also then use this for the woodwork to keep the overall look light and bright. Some matching turquoise based rugs and stair runner that link to the wall colour would also harmonise the look and increase the feeling of space. With regard to the electric meter, what about building a bespoke cupboard around it? It will give you storage underneath and a place to pop a nice lamp or plant + a tray for those keys and pocket detritus that we all bring in with us and that ends up getting a bit lost around the house if we don't give it a home! Good luck with it, you are obviously having to work hard with all that wood to clean up!...See MoreShall I use Dulux space and light enhancing for light or dark colours
