kitchen island worktop

i am buildding a new home our kitchen has arrived its a stone color i have a laminate oak worktop coming i have a island in middle and want to put granite on any ideas on color that would look good i have yet to chose flooring mb a wood tile

We would need pics. From your description it sounds a bit 'orangey' with the colours so maybe you need to lighten it - white or a dark charcoal/black contrast.

Our particular suppliers of Quartz do not reccomend installing quartz outside/somewhere with long term or excessive sun exposure. Its also not included in their warranty as prolonged UV ray exposure has not been tested. But best to talk to your supplier directly. If you are concerned have you thought about a Neolith worktop? Since the color is 100% natural, it does not deteriorate due to exposure to the sun. Good luck!

Agree with one plan each situation is slightly different. Depends for example how big the island is. In my current kitchen the gap is 1.2 but I don’t it’s ideal I think it’s slightly too big but I based it on lining up with patio doors.

Thanks ‘Man about the house’, we hope to house the boiler, but as it’s non-standard size (it’s a commercial sized boiler) we are exploring doing a bespoke cabinet with a standard door but this depends on the cost! I like the idea of a light and airy kitchen - will definitely explore this. For cabinet doors, am now thinking perhaps f&b ammonite coloured doors but worried that grey won’t be in fashion in a few years so perhaps looking at colours that are more classical/light such as f&b old white or James white. Currently testing these colours on our kitchen wall! Will post pictures when am home.

The problem is everything looks different in different lights. I recall a poster saying the Wevet on her walls had a distinct pink tint. Mine definitely doesn’t. I would class mine as a white with the very merest hint of blue/grey. So subtle that if you weren’t looking at it critically you wouldn’t even notice it. Mine looks the same colour in both daylight and when the downlights are on during the evening.
