Worktop - white laminate

I am currently doing up my utility , I am having dove grey units and need a worktop which is about 2.5 m. I was going to get stone but it's working out too expensive and I don't think it's worth it for a utility room. I am thinking about white laminate (there's quite a strong patterned floor ( so want to keep it simple) . I want a squared edged white laminate which isn't too thick so ideally 26-28m . I can't seem to find one ! I just want a Matt white one ! Can anyone help !! Thank you

Thank you ! Yes have just seen , very annoyingly it's 1cm/2cm too short for my worktop ! I may have to have it made and it will take 5 weeks !

Thank you so much, all of you, for your very helpful advice. It's official - I'm going for wood! As well as all your comments, after I got home tonight I (sunflower) oiled all my wooden table and it looked fantastic, so warm & rich in colour. It was the first thing the hubby noticed when he walked through the door so that tells you something! And I thought that if I can just remember to do this every 6 monthly with the worktops then it really will look fabulous. And that's very interesting about what's happened to your laminate edges Chalkandbell, oh and the tip about wiping the edges dry after use. This advice is exactly what I was after - the kitchen companies will always say it's minimal upkeep but I really needed to hear from those who actually work with it every day. Thank you all. Should we leave a small gap between a laminate worktop and cooker?

I would not leave a gap, as unless it's large enough to get in to, you will not be able to clean it sufficiently. Silicone sealant is available in a range of colours, you can even order it online. Screwfix do a pale beige straight off the shelf, but you can order in a miriad of Ral colours if you're super fussy like me from:- Sealants and Tools direct

They have just re-done their website and offer more choice. I recall they have some wood effect as I had to order for a customer. Just be cautious of the length though as they only did 3m in what my customer wanted. From recollection their carriage is quite high. There is Axiom, Prima, Odyssey, Omega, Duropal, Egger, Spectra, Tandem and Oasis to name but a few if you can find a local independent who supplies all these. We do.

Hi SD,

Just a suggestion but have you considered bathroom worktops? I did a kitchen once with 28mm thick worktops and prima do a white version you can see here: http://www.bushboard.co.uk/products/range/nuance/calacatta-marble--true-scale-236

I've attached a picture of the kitchen I created with the similar thickness top.

Microcement cement is an option, we can coat all most any surface imaginable. Have your worktop made to your desired size in MDF or Ply and we can coat it in microcement.
Matt, satin or gloss in a good range of colours.

You could go for some birch ply formica. It has a lovely square profile and the stripey layered edge. More costly than standard laminate but cheaper than stone.

There's still a lot of slightly round edged worktops out there. If you definitely wasn't a square edge white Matt 3m worktop you'll struggle.

If you look at a pencil round as they call it you'll get much more options in a 3m because it's available in cheaper ranges. Look at Tandem and odyssey.
