A stunning Wet Floor Shower Solution
Bill and Betty from Glasgow approached our team to ask if we could provide a showering solution which would make life a little easier for them, as they were struggling with accessing their previously small shower enclosure due to ill health. Whist the works were designed with accessibility in mind our clients were not willing to compromise on style and we got the message when they told us it had better not look like a hospital bathroom!
By relocating the WC, wash basin and shower area we were able to maximise the showering space. However, the biggest challenge was coping with the boxed in slope from the stairs below which we couldn’t readily alter. By installing a Matki Wet Floor Shower ASP panel with integrated seat we managed to incorporate the slope into the shower space without any impact on the useable space.
We fitted a concealed unit behind the drench shower which provided acres of storage for our client’s toiletries.
We fitted a concealed cistern inside a bespoke housing unit which was finished with a Silestone worktop. This top is removable and allows access to the cistern whilst providing a scratch resistant storage surface.
The basin unit was from Utopia Bathrooms and was complemented by a striking illuminated mirror cabinet.
Previous access issues into the bathroom was overcome by installing a recessed sliding pocket door by Eclisse and an inline extractor fan was fitted to the lowered ceiling along with modern shower and LED lighting. Underfloor heating, recessed light box and chrome ladder rail all add a luxury feel to the room.
