“Open, airy, relaxed, clean lines, natural tones and a few blue accents.” That was the brief I received from the new owners of this four-storey property located just off Abbeville Road in Clapham. The house, refurbished in 2015 by a real estate developer, was in need of a more personal touch. Throughout the design process, I introduced a variety of textures — from wood veneer details to silk-effect wall coverings and marble finishes — to bring the sense of elegance the American-British couple wanted. I also designed the custom joinery, including a stylish yet highly functional utility room with walnut doors that conceal everything but the wine.
