Bespoke Inframe Two Tone Classic Kitchen Giffnock, G46

This is an inframe kitchen from our made to measure bespoke range. Our client chose the door and explained they wanted a truly classic look. With the working mantle, Corbels and solid Oak pilasters, this gives the kitchen a true Edwardian feel with a modern twist of Liebherr wine cooler and under-counter beer fridge.
For the colour, our clients decided on Railings No31 for the island and Pavillion Grey No 242 for the main run, both shades by Farrow & Ball.
The worksurface is 30mm Ice Blue Granite with the added feature of Roman edge profile. Our client had specific instructions, that no joins to be on the island. This is a tricky one on a 3.85mtr island! Granite, unlike Quartz, only come in 3mtr slabs. We decided to raise the middle area, splitting into Three sections, using the higher middle area to work as the breakfast bar opposite Belfast sink. This is very popular in high-end kitchens in the USA. In the initial design, the supporting steel upright was causing an issue. The steel was landing where the island was to be housed. In the end, it worked out well allowing a split in the island at different heights, finishing both ends into the column.
Templating was a nerve racking experience, but carrying the monster slab to its new home was equally terrifying as well as making advanced body pump at a David Lloyd, feel like a brisk walk.
