Contemporary Garden 2

A contemporary garden which is ideal for entertaining on warm summer evenings. The garden is divided into different spaces with a dining area, lawn, planting and play area. The existing mature apple tree gives the garden atmosphere and provides shade on hot sunny days. This garden was a difficult, steeply sloping site with access from the top of the garden. Although some existing terracing had taken place, the retaining walls needed to be reconstructed and the access from the top of the garden improved as well as creating new planting areas. The existing brick boundary wall was brought up to date with western red cedar cladding, which was mirrored in the cladding to the top of the wall of the clients' new home office at the top of the garden. A new timber boundary fence was painted grey to tie in with the grey porcelain paving which was also used as the coping for retaining walls.
