Heath House
This listed building is nestled in one of the most beautiful parts of London - right in the heart of Hampstead Heath. The refurbishment focused on improving the environmental and energy performance of the building, expanding the space and creating beautiful interiors in the process.
On the ground floor, the clients wanted more family focused cooking and dining spaces with an improved relationship to the enclosed courtyard. New doors bring in more natural light and maximise the outlook to the courtyard garden, designed by Ula Maria. The courtyard also houses a new Air Source Heat Pump allowing us to remove gas from the house.
The attic space was converted into a guest bedroom and ensuite, accessed by a new staircase. To bring in natural light to the staircase we introduced a timber and reeded glass wall at the top of the house.
We collaborated with A New Day Design on the interiors, bringing a contemporary style to the period properly, with natural materials used throughout to complement the new sustainable character of this family home.
