Ifield Road, Kensington

One of our latest projects this season and an amazing example of an artistic home.
The pastel colours, combined with bright and colourful focal points, lighten up the day; while quirky art pieces, musical instruments and loads of books show the owners' passions. The result is an overall feel of cosiness, created by this very functional and very stylish home.

Just down the stairway is the open plan kitchen and dining area, welcoming you with its' spacious design and friendly atmosphere, brought about by calm, unobtrusive colours.

The colourful chairs of the dining room give it an artistic undertone, all the while not imposing on its' minimalistic nature.

This closer look at the built-in cupboards and shelves of the open plan kitchen and dining area provide a better view of the detail involved. The white-to-grey/beige colouring flows well, while also managing to separate kitchen from dining room without clashing.

A closer shot of the kitchen area focuses on the worktops, with the composite sink and modern gas stoves. The bar-end of the U-shaped kitchen serves as a breakfast area, while also not compromising the available cooking area.

While it may appear cramped and tight at first, the kitchen area is anything but. With ample working area, dual built-in ovens and a large gas cooktop, it still manages to have enough room left for appliances.

Going up the stairs from the atrium, you're greeted by another sign of the owner's artistic passions in the open hallway landing, leading you onto the living room lounge.

The living room boasts an incredibly comfortable modern sofa, made to stand out in the calm tones of the walls by the overhanging artwork - an ever present feature of this wonderful home.

On the other side of the living room is the large cabinet/bookshelf flanking the fireplace, catching the eye in its' light blue tones, various artful elements and homey appeal.

On the other side of the hallway, opposite the living room, is a spacious office and work area - a place where the owner's artistic passions can come to fruition. The red cabinets provide a break from the room's relaxing tones without being imposing or dominant.

A second look at the office area reveals the balcony side - overlooking the nearby park, it's a great place for a break to take inspiration from nature.

Upon entering this wonderful home, guests are immediately greeted by the large atrium, where the spiralling stairway brings the otherwise multi-storeyed house together in a seemingly single, open space.

The fireplace invokes a feeling of homeliness and comfort to new arrivals, while the spacious reception area lets them open up to the rest of the house without making them feel herded.

The vintage wooden chest, flanked by the duo of modern chairs are the eye-catcher of this room, hinting at the artistic nature of their owners.

The large spiralling stairway of this house gives an impression of the house's enormity, while also welcoming guests to explore what's beyond it's steps.

On the opposite side of the house, overlooking the street though the large windows, is the master bedroom. The red cabinet sits well as the focus of the room, matching the ones in the office and bringing the bedroom together.

A closer look at the bed in the master bedroom of the house reveals the details and quality finish of it's frame and matching end tables. The white duvet sheets serve well to reflect the ample light coming through the large windows.

The elevated bed of the kid's room serves a dual purpose by providing a sleeping and play area, as well as a storage area under the frame. An opposite shot, focusing on the walk-in shower and its' "rainfall" head, which provides amazing relaxation, while not hindering a quick morning shower before setting off for work.

This image of the bathroom helps appreciate the size of the freestanding tub, whit is the focus of both this shot and the room in general. Positioned next to the large window and overlooking the nearby park, it's perfectly suited for a long and relaxing bath.

The smaller bathroom is by no means less-well equipped to cater a relaxing experience - be it a quick shower under the "rainfall" head, or a long bath in the built-in tub.

This image shows the flow between floor and wall tiles. Matching with the colours of the mirror frame, the floor allures to the artistic theme present throughout the house, while the white walls speak of comfort and minimalistic utility.

The blue walls surrounding the toilet separate the loo from the bathroom part nicely and without clashing with the white tiles, quashing any feeling of cramped space in the room.
