The brief was for a cosy living room that would become a sanctuary for these new parents in the evening. It is part of an open plan space and had become a glorified walk through to the kitchen. To keep the functionality of the open plan we separated the spaces with a light filtering curtain that could be pulled across for movie night and create the cosy feeling that open plan spaces can lack. We went for an autumnal colour palette to ground the design and give a sense of relaxed opulence.
