Natural Walnut Kitchen

The brief:

Functionality and family were top priority when it came to Mr and Mrs Taylor’s new kitchen. Initially one large space, they wanted to divide it up in to a separate kitchen and dining area, so the grandchildren had somewhere to sit and eat. As keen cooks, plenty of cupboard space and top appliances were fundamental in the design of their new kitchen. In fact, it was Kitchen International’s Sub Zero/ Wolf appliance range that first attracted the Taylor’s to the Stoneham appointed kitchen centre in Glasgow.

The solution:

Stoneham Strata furniture, with its distinctive, wide-bevelled solid timber frame, was selected. The clean lines of the natural walnut and tainted lead finish, compliment the stainless steel Sub Zero/ Wolf Pro 48 fridge and other appliances. Black mirror glass cupboard doors set them off to perfection.

With blanco river coloured silestone worktops and glass panelling, the cool blue tones provide a wonderful contrast to the walnut furniture. Finished beautifully with interchangeable, low-energy LED lighting, Mr and Mrs Taylor are delighted with the result.

The simple square island, with rounded edges, provides the perfect place for the Taylors to interact with people in the dining room and oversee the grandchildren whilst they cook. And the Stoneham walnut and black mirror glass dresser unit in the dining room brings synergy to the adjoining areas.

Completing the couple’s Victorian sandstone property in Bridge of Allan, Scotland, the kitchen is the perfect fusion of high tech innovation and traditional features.
