Creating an organic, flowing, Japanese-inspired aesthetic that is easy to maintain created many obstacles for our designers. Integrating specific elements, such as a small circular sitting area and the summer house, required thoughtfulness. Adding a Japanese-inspired water feature meant to accentuate the space without overwhelming it was also a primary concern. We took several steps to ensure we could bring this garden design to life:
The shape was an almost circular, large lawn with all elements radiating from its centre.
The garden features a small circular patio halfway off a naturally flowing stepping stone path.
The path leads to the summer house at the rear.
Bamboo poles add some verticality to the composition, making the visual flow consistent.
A Japanese garden adjusted to the Scottish climate inspired a meticulously chosen planting plan.
A Japanese-style water feature hidden between bamboo shrubs adds a sense of tranquillity.
