Private Residence - South West
The owners of this stunning kitchen project wanted a natural stone floor that was hardwearing and complemented their sleek white/wood combination kitchen. They requested a stone with subtle grey tones that would add texture, and help to complete the organic feel of the overall design scheme.
Following a consultation with one of our stone advisors, Albemarle limestone was chosen. A classic stone characterised by unique shell and fossil patterns, it possesses a slightly grey colour tone and holds similar traits to the renowned Portland English limestone. To ensure the tactile surface was achieved, we applied a tumbled finish, created by a mechanical process that mimics the effect that the sea has on pebbles on the beach. The result leaves the edges of the stone softly rounded and exposes the surface grain, giving it a slightly stippled effect.
