Purston Manor

When Heaven & Stubbs was approached to create a kitchen beffiting the status of this wonderful Cotswold manor house, two rooms were combined to create a much larger space; a kitchen more in proportion with the size of the home.

Combining two rooms also afforded the homeowners a greater feel of light and size in order to create a welcoming and relaxing, social kitchen space; something that simply wasn’t thought of in the days when the house was orginally constructed. For such properties, the kitchen was a small functional space used only by cooks and house keeping staff.

The large, sturdy in-frame furniture, with its painted finish and vast island, looks as though its always been there and is perfectly in proportion with the rooms low ceiling. However, whilst fitting in with the homes period feel, this kitchen is more than up to the rigours of 21st century living. The island conceals a dishwasher, wine cooler and an oven – to complement the large AGA.

Wall cabinetry cleverly incorporate book storage, shelving as well as a large TV screen.
