The Three Steps to Relaxation
Our clients had recently purchased a new build house with a typical new build garden - uneven, full of builder's rubble, and an asymmetric boundary. The plot also sloped in two directions up to the far left corner, but unusually for a new build was quite a good size.
Our clients wanted a contemporary garden with a hot tub, places to relax and for children to play, as well an area for growing fruit and veg. Quite a big wish list!
The design solution took advantage of the sloped garden, siting a composite deck on the highest point. Huge floating concrete slabs were used as overlapping steps up to the deck with a 2-tier cascading water feature next to it adding to the drama.
A generous sized lawn (with stepping stones across it) provides plenty space for kids to play, with 3 pleached evergreen trees adding to the contemporary feel.
The main terrace - in beige porcelain - provides ample space for dining, and a built-in hot tub with surrounding chunky pergola is the perfect spot for winding down and enjoying the rest of the garden.
