Keeping rustic elements to stay true to the architectural character of the home and mixing it with some new, fresh transitional and modern features was important to the client in remodeling this kitchen. The original footprint of the space was too boxed in and compartmentalized. With a growing family and extended family nearby for gatherings, they needed an open design with free flowing traffic patterns and more seating space. Lighter color, easy maintenance quartz tops and natural wood flooring and pale gray walls helped give a simple clean and airy feel to the whole area. We used a punch of color with the marine blue cabinets in the coffee and drink bars to add interest.
