The client was building a three-story property having torn down the existing building. It was a key requirement to the client that smart home technology was integrated as part of the build to allow for control of as much of the future development as possible. With the client’s focus on ‘Green’ living it was important for the client that the solution provided opportunities to help lower the utility usage.
Overall solution/approach:
The automation controller provided connectivity to all of the individual technologies. Vitrum was chosen for lighting and curtain/blind/sky light controllers. An alarm system, including smoke and heat detection was installed with connectivity to the automation controller, alerting to the key holders was set up via the automation controller for alerting via email. Video is distributed throughout the property from several Sky boxes and Apple TV via an HD video matrix allowing individual source control in each room. In the main living space a large screen TV with surround sound was implemented. Other rooms throughout the property were connected via networked amplifiers using discrete ceiling speakers to minimise any on-wall installation. A whole-house audio solution completed the installation and provides seamless music and radio throughout.
All connected technology was controlled via customised touch screen layouts on the client supplied iPad tablets.

The delivered solution continues to meet the client’s requirements and will be able to grow in-line with any additional appetite for automation.
