Colors & Combinations
White-painted wood floors: The first step is to sand your floor lightly and then clean it well. Once you do so, use primer to lay a base and wait 24 hours for it dry completely. Then, for maximum durability, paint your primed floor with oil-based exterior-grade paint. Work from the back of the room and paint your way out to the door. Simple white floors are becoming very popular; you can stop with just that one color if you like.
This example shows how an abundance of light really gives you the freedom to go as bold with color and pattern as you want. Both the bright orange ceiling and contrasting checked-pattern floor scream for attention. But the walls of glass and gorgeous views of the greenery beyond keep the room from being too much to take in. An orange to try: Invigorate SW6886, Sherwin-Williams
This room showcases a few of my favorite soft and soothing hues for bedrooms: a light sea-glass green, a warm gray and an ethereal blue. Any of these would work well as a main wall color; simply mix in one or more of the other hues for a soft and pleasing punch of color. PPG Pittsburgh Paints: White Clover, Turtle Dove, and Tinsel
This hot reddish-pink hue is arguably the color of love. I think it’d be tough to go to sleep mad at your partner if this is where you both lay your heads at the end of the day. Raspberry hues pair well with warm metal hues such as copper, bronze and gold. Add plenty of white to keep the palette crisp and clean.
Silver frames for artwork on periwinkle/pale blue walls.
If your artwork has bright hues, don't think that your wall color must be equally vivid. Softer, muted paint colors will allow your piece to shine, while playing down the rest of the room. In this photo: Honeywheat 179 by Benjamin Moore
If the color red is in your artwork, an equally red wall will pull those fiery hues out of your painting or print, and make it look even more vibrant.
Red, yellow, and black
Yellow walls, white trim, black and red accents
Color accents in this room match the evening sky outside.
Pistachio paint
Light green ombre wall from Pistachio to Grassy Fields
Love the blue color, the design on the doors, and the matching design on the ceiling.
Classic blue and white palette
Dig those chair covers! Also the black, white, and yellow palette.
Another black, white, and yellow palette.
How about a shot of yellow for a fun surprise inside drawers?
I like the bluish-purple wall and the orange glowing lamps, but not the bedspread.
"Keeping a strict color palette ties together an eclectic mix of seating and decorating styles." True.

This is an Ann Stuart kind of room.
Am I blue?
Warm, colorful kitchen.
Nice use of a mellow yellow. Change out the covers and pillows. Imagine them white or black or blue or green ... The yellow on the walls is from Mythic Paint: Sundrenched Sand 096-3
Crazy, but it works.
Muted crazy, but it works.
Blue, yellow, and white
Yellow and red, but not much of them. Natural green wins again.
Color via art, furniture, and accessories.
Plain old black and white: sophisticated without being stark.
Navy and white, with a splash of yellow.
This is how to do multiple colors in an open floorplan.
Yellow, white, and red
Yellow, white, and red, with gray trim
Pink stripes on curtains match pink couch. More pink in pillows, but then that's it for pink. Do this with a different color?
Nice blue and white scheme. I really like wainscoting in a bathroom.
Cool idea: blue wainscoting and white paint instead of the reverse! Also, nice crown moulding on the ceiling.
Make the ceiling the "accent wall"
Green walls, white cabinetry, and butcher block countertops -- nice combination.
Beadboard up to the doorframe limits the paint to an accent.
You could give this kitchen a completely different look just by swapping out the carpet tiles and counter stools.
Robin’s egg blue with butter yellow and bold gold. Here’s an example of a colorful scheme that is a bit softer than some of the previous ones. The buttery yellow and pretty blue are rather light yet still saturated, so they have a nice whimsical quality. Any of these hues would make a terrific accent wall in a home, with the other two colors serving as solid supporting hues.
