K B and Laraine. Me too. The reclaimed doors are the only feature with any appeal to me - but it's one thing to be intimate, quite another to view the significant other's display of their personal toilet and ablutions, nor to provide the spectacle. In our mid-terraced Victorian house (now described as 'cottages') there were originally outside privies and no bathroom.

Yes Deborah. I was wondering how many victorian houses had indoor plumbing! Rich people's houses had baths that servants filled and emptied by hand. The plebs had the tin bath in front of the living room fire. Dad went first, then off to the pub so everyone else could bath reasonably modestly. Those were the days! As far as I'm aware, plumbed bathrooms started to appear in the Edwardian era.

And the toilet was outside across the courtyard... great in the depths of winter... hence chamber pots. Yes, those French doors do it for me too but opaque glass would have been better. The rest don't really 'wash' with me. With the exception of 'vamp up a vanity' (1st pic), most of them leave me cold too...
