Trending Now: 11 Dream Baths That Have It All
See how each of these beautiful bathrooms incorporates a walk-in shower and a standalone tub
Ask any person who’s remodeling a bathroom what tops his or her wish list and you’re likely to hear about a walk-in shower and a standalone bathtub. So it’s no surprise that the following bathrooms, which include both features, were among the most popular bathroom photos uploaded to Houzz in the last three months. Which in our countdown is your favorite?
10. A bath divided. A rich palette distinguishes this bathroom in St. Petersburg, Russia. But it’s the steel-and-glass cube set in a concrete-lined zone and the standalone tub that steal the show.

9. Everywhere you look. In Florida, a gorgeous built-in wood vanity and storage cabinets turn heads one way, while leafy views enjoyed from the large tub and walk-in shower turn them the other.
8. Marble madness. It’s amazing what you can do with marble. You can cut it into almost any size and shape and it still looks elegant. In this bathroom in Columbus, Ohio, the material finds its way in as countertops, flooring, wall tile, shower tile and even a soap niche next to a large soaking tub.
7. Forest of solitude. Sometimes the path through the forest requires a little rest stop. What better place than in a soaking tub surrounded by the trees? If that’s not your speed, then a respite on a tile-lined bench inside a steamy shower might offer more solitude. And if things get too cloudy, just pop open that glass vent panel above the door to clear the air — and your mind.
6. Palette cleanser. The wet room concept that encompasses the curbless shower and egg-shaped tub will sell a lot of people on this bathroom in Melbourne, Australia. The simple palette of black fixtures; white vanity, walls and tub; and gray floor and feature wall tile will romance the rest.
5. Penny tile for your thoughts. A spacious dual-head shower and curvy freestanding tub get a luxurious upgrade thanks to a seemingly endless expanse of penny tile shimmering in the glow of an elegant chandelier.
4. Sit and stay awhile. It’s hard to choose where to sit in this sun-filled Boston bathroom: in the spacious shower, near the drip deck outside it or in the massive soaking tub with the leafy views.
3. The heat is on. Vancouver, British Columbia, can get downright chilly. But you wouldn’t feel it in this bathroom. Heated marble floors, a flickering fireplace, a steam shower and, yes, even towel warmers mean this homeowner never has to catch cold.
2. All dressed up. There are so many stylish details in this Los Angeles bathroom, and the designer makes it looks so effortless. A relatively compact oval tub (5 by 2½ feet) sits in a wet room anchored in handmade encaustic cement tiles in a “tulips fleur” pattern. Then there’s the charcoal grout that makes the subway tile pop, the wall-mounted tub filler, the white wood paneling, the brass hardware on a dark-painted vanity, the large globe pendant — it all works in perfect harmony.
1. Point of interest. What’s not to love about this San Francisco Bay Area bathroom? A large soaking tub sits in the same curbed marble-tiled area as the shower to create a destination to rival that of the bay outside the picture window.
