Bespoke island in Urbo kitchen
Contemporary Kitchen, London
Stainless steel and Wenge wood bespoke Urbo island from Roundhouse. It has three defined ‘zones’ for cooking, preparation and eating, with a solid Wenge wood bar that delineates the breakfast area to two sides. This rests on the worktop, cantilevering out to accommodate as many as six to seven - eight at a pinch. The robust stainless steel work surface that houses a flush hob is at the same height so the cook is no longer isolated elsewhere at the stove. The food preparation area is at a lower level contained within the higher-level worktops which helps disguise culinary untidiness. The island has copious storage, contained within extra-long drawers - possible because of technical advancements, which make them more stable. Further large cupboards are hidden behind sliding doors, allowing access to the contents without the need to move stools.
