Sustainable Kitchens - A Traditional Country Kitchen. 17th Century Grade II listed barn conversion with oak worktops and cabinets painted in Farrow & Ball Tallow. The cabinets have traditional beading and mouldings. The 300 year old exposed bricks and farmhouse sink help maintain the traditional style. There is an oven tower and American style fridge and freezer combination with a larder on either side. The beams are original.

This large kitchen in a converted schoolhouse needed an unusual approach. The owners wanted an eclectic look – using a diverse range of styles, shapes, sizes, colours and finishes. The final result speaks for itself – an amazing, quirky and edgy design. From the black sink unit with its ornate mouldings to the oak and beech butcher’s block, from the blue and cream solid wood cupboards with a mix of granite and wooden worktops to the more subtle free-standing furniture in the utility. Glazed oak cabinet with LED lights painted in Farrow & Ball Chappell Green maximise the space by making the most of the high ceilings. The unified colour also creates a more spacious feeling. Pine table with chapel chair hint at the origins of the house as an old chapel with the limestone flooring adding to the rustic feel.

Huntsmore removed the tired and dated kitchen to replace it with a traditional styled kitchen. A marble counter top was fitted to give the kitchen a luxurious feel along with a large Belfast sink. A new double glazed timber sash window was installed as well as new cornicing which is in keeping with the building’s Victorian character.
