A fire virtually destroyed this home. It was burned to the ground. Initial indications were that the owner did not have sufficient insurance coverage to rebuild, and the initial settlement offer from the insurance company was woefully inadequate. We were able to negotiate an appropriate settlement amount with the owner's insurance company, and designed the project so as to comply with the budgetary constraints. We also integrated into the project, at no additional cost to the owner, a considerable amount of engineered foundation work (outside of the insurance damage) to rectify severe long-term pre-existing foundation subsidence problems. Even further, we completely redesigned the entire floor plan, creating an open, spacious, and aesthetically pleasing design. And of course, we designed the gorgeous finishes. We really made lemonade from lemons on this one, and produced a terrific result for the owner from a situation they initially thought was irredeemable.
