This traditional Victorian bathroom was a little tired, it needed redecorating, however, the client was happy with the bath and sanitaryware, and wanted to keep the layout. It was previously painted in Farrow & Ball's 'Elephants Breath' with all woodwork in 'Bone', which the client picked over 10 years ago. They fancied a bit of a change and wanted a more dramatic look to go with the rest of the house and decided on Fornasetti's II Acquario wallpaper from Cole & Son's. The client is a huge fan off Fornasetti so it was an easy decision! We chose Myland's paint in 'Sinner', to compliment the wallpaper and really give the room a luxurious and mysterious feel. There is a feature floor underneath the bath with Vicotiran black and white tiles, and the rest of the floor is a subtle dark vinyl.
The cast iron roll top bath has also been painted to blend in with the walls.
The overall look is very dramatic, and works so well in a small room. We loved this project, and it shows that you can change a small amount of details in a room to give it a completely different style and atmosphere!

The primary bathroom features a vintage clawfoot tub that was re-glazed to it's former glory. An oversized niche is very convenient a romantic night with wine and candles.
Oversized porcelain tile was used instead of marble for easy maintenance. A brass wall mounted faucet has an additional hand-held feature for hair washing and tub clean-up. The over-sizes shower is surrounded with a door-less glass enclosure.

The large bathroom has a double-ended orange clawfoot tub in the center of the room, with a skylight above for stargazing. The vintage chaise longue is recovered in hand-printed fabric by Kathryn M Ireland. The grey double vanity was sourced through Houzz.com, with George Kovacs sconces from Lumens, and mid-century art from Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, interspersed with mounted antlers to keep the desert theme alive. Moroccan style mirrors add the eclectic touch to the room's decor.

I worked with my client to create a home that looked and functioned beautifully whilst minimising the impact on the environment. We reused furniture where possible, sourced antiques and used sustainable products where possible, ensuring we combined deliveries and used UK based companies where possible. The result is a unique family home.
This bathroom boasts a freestanding, clawfoot bath, pedestal sink and toilet all reclaimed from the original house and reused. A custom linen cupboard, wall panelling and a bold wallpaper makes this bathroom unique. fun and functional.

"Before & After" A small & dated 1967 country ranch bathroom gets a French inspired makeover and becomes the perfect, relaxing retreat. Using honey maple 'wood color' ceramic plank shaped tiles, the floor seamlessly blends with the overall look and wood floors throughout the home. The 'flamingo pink' flea- market sconces, ( once repainted) converted, dark wood French chest, unfinished brass details and 'Antique Pearl' ( Ben Moore/eggshell finish) completed this wonderful, low cost renovation. Good news! Less cold to the touch, the acrylic, claw foot tub, holds the heats ( and bubbles ) much longer than porcelain.
