Eco-Conscious Makeover - SFV home
Contemporary Living Room, Los Angeles
Overhead view from staircase landing of living room/dining area. Carpeting & tile floors were removed & replaced with carbonized bamboo. Notice the intentional color variation in the planks, creating a more textured look. Pony wall at entry was replaced by the peek-a-boo divider. Matching orange leather lovesats with textured accent pillows frame the customized area rug & oval glass-brushed stainless base coffee table; all are angled to maximize the narrow room dimensions & create a more interesting perspective. Storage cabinet to the right isi made of crushed coconut shells & sits beneath a cork-framed rectangular mirror. Dining set in the backgrouond features sustainable ironwood table & chairs woven from abaca fronds. Guests can move easily between the living & dining area in this open floor plan & also be comfortable while being entertained on the piano to the left of the frame & guitars suspended over the piano (out of view) by this musical, professional family. Paint is a customized very pale apricot from Benjamin Moore, 0 VOC. Dining table top accessories look appealing from all angles. See close-up photo of the dining table for more detailed description.
