The project's scope involved reframing the layout of the entire basement, installing plumbing for a new bathroom, modifying the stairs for code compliance, and adding an egress window to create a livable bedroom. Byrus Signature TouchThe updated cabinet was next in completing this look. We suggested a mint green cabinet and boy, did it not disappoint! The original bathroom was designed for a teenage girl, complete with a beautiful bowl sink and make up vanity. But now, this bathroom has a couple pint-sized occupants. We suggested the double sinks for their own spaces. To take it one step further, we gave them each a cabinet and their own set of drawers. We used Starmark Cabinetry and special ordered this color since it’s not one they offer. We chose Sherwin Williams “Rainwashed”. (For the hardware, we just picked our a set from Lowes that we thought looked both dainty and like it belonged in a Farmhouse.)

Studio KohlhaasThis 1,398 SF home in central Austin feels much larger, holding its own with many more imposing homes on Kinney Avenue. Clerestory windows above with a 10 foot overhang allow wonderful natural light to pour in throughout the living spaces, while protecting the interior from the blistering Texas sun. The interiors are lively with varying ceiling heights, natural materials, and a soothing color palette. Melissa HHaving two boys, the old pink bath just wouldn't work. The challenge was to come up with something that the boys could grow in to and a design that wouldn't quickly lose it's appeal.
The navy blue vanity became the focal point and the bronze hardware gave it a masculine edge. Matte white subway tile paired with a light grey grout added a bit of interest to the walls.
Wood grain tile in a light grey was chosen to make the space look larger and brighter.
The large oval mirrors paired with mini-pendants added some depth and interest as well.
