A very small South Tampa backyard (typical) turned into a very usable space. Approx. 265 sq. ft. this small pool or spool (spa pool) has everything one needs to enjoy outdoor living life. Offset to one side of the yard, it allows for max use of the space. The approx. 330 sq. ft. french pattern silver travertine pool deck and straight edge pool coping gives this backyard a clean, simple, modern feel. With the soft zoyisa grass expanding almost to pool edges it gives the small space a vast, clean feel. The sunshelf in the pool adds a place of pause before entering the pool which has a max depth of 6 feet. The large pool deck is draped with Silver Takoma Travertine coping, and Passion Silver porcelain pavers. I delineate two areas by the large pool. By creating these two sections within this large area, I was able to keep the composition visually interesting while making two very functional and distinctive zones. The lounge area features three contrasting lounge chairs in black and the seating area by the fireplace features a modern sofa and chairs with black metal frames. The look is sophisticated and functional.

Our clients in South Morang know one thing for sure. There’s nothing better on a hot summer day than having a barbeque on the deck after cooling off in the pool! The poolside has been paved in beautiful pale travertine to complement the two-tone rendered external walls. The large pergola frame is made of laminated Cypress beams with multiple coats of Cutek oil to create a rich gloss surface. Oversized galvanised post stirrups and brackets make the structure extremely stable and strong and when paired with the warmth of the glossy, dressed timber it creates a bold and stylish modern-industrial look. That look is completed by the flat Ampelite roof sheeting which requires no battens, allowing for a much more open, clean roof space and Colorbond guttering. The additional height and opaque sheeting allow the maximum amount of light and breeze through without compromising on coverage. A perfect outdoor entertainment area for any type of weather really!

Modern Swimming Pool with Natural Stone Paving Ideas and Designs

A modern garden or outdoor swimming pool can be a great way to cool off in the summer, and when the swimming pool covers are on, the fun can continue with steaming hot tubs or home spas. Better yet, if you have the budget and the space to work with, why not install an indoor swimming pool that can be enjoyed all year round? Do new indoor or outdoor swimming pools increase the value of homes?

Outdoor or indoor swimming pools can significantly impact property value by attracting buyers with bigger budgets who are looking for a little luxury in their home. However, installing a large modern swimming pool could also negatively impact the value of your house if there isn’t enough space left in your garden for anything else. This is why it is important to seek guidance from a swimming pool installer or expert, and choose a swimming pool installation that can fit tastefully in your garden. If you are planning to sell your home, you may also want to look into the range of large inflatable, above ground swimming pools now available so that you can take it with you when you leave.

What type of swimming pool should I install?

The British weather can be unpredictable at best, so while an infinity pool or luxurious outdoor pool may be a stunning addition to a holiday villa abroad, it may be a good idea to look into small modern plunge pools, heated pools and indoor swimming pool designs instead. This doesn’t mean you will have to compromise on style – even natural swimming pools, which can look stunning when well placed in leafy and luscious gardens, are heatable and therefore usable in slightly colder months. Of course, with nice garden hot tubs you may not be able swim lengths but you will be able to relax in your garden no matter the weather as you look up at the stars. If you are on a budget there are also affordable inflatable hot tubs that could work in your garden. And, just like inflatable pools, the extra advantage is that they will be able to come with you if you move!

What material should I use for spas or hot tubs?

For a hot tub to survive the changing seasons it is important to choose a material that will be durable. Cedar or other wooden hot tubs can look attractive, but will be harder to maintain. The most popular material is often vinyl for its affordability and versatility but this material is also less likely to last. To get the best bang for your buck, we would recommend opting for a concrete or a fibreglass hot tub or spa, which would provide you with a sturdy solution. In addition, metal above ground hot tubs can be a durable option.
