Oxford Rear Garden

Traditional Garden, Oxfordshire

The clients already had a plan in mind and a design drawn up for the garden. Through the bi-fold doors the patio would be a continuation of the kitchen with the same Shire aged Limestone paving being used. The main patio then leads onto a timber edged Cotswold gravel path, with a new lawn to one side and planting border to the other, opening into an area of six raised planting beds. From here there is a bark mulched area where the trampoline sits and an option to continue into the garden along the gravel path or onto a new lawn passing under a timber pergola with existing climbers trained up. The path winds its way to the end of the garden past the existing sheds with newly built composting bins, arriving at the office/music room bordered by a patio laid using Indian stone reclaimed from old paths within the garden. The client chose to undertake the planting and with the planned lighting scheme, this is a garden that will continue to improve over time.
