"I believe that every room deserves a different level of mood and lighting. Where a kitchen must practically be bright and light, a corridor can carry a lot more mood as the only task it fulfils is to travel through. In this case I have added the evening shot of Venice and the mood it carries, and have translated that in the dark wall coverings." The wall covering used is a suede effect called Touch by Stereo.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

The stairway is dominated by a near-black suede wallpaper. ‘It’s incredible,’ says Thomas, ‘you just want to touch it. It has such a great texture, you constantly want to glide your hand over it.’ An atmospheric photograph of the gondolas in Venice completes the look, while the glass banister and oak floor blend in unobtrusively. At the end of the hallway is the master suite, with the bedroom and bathroom leading off it to the left, and the dressing room to the right.
