A compact space doesn't need to feel ungenerous. The client and I chose an Art Deco inspired metallic paper from Cole and Son that helped throw light around the room with a complementary set of curtains. Vertical blinds that matched the wallcolour emphasised the floor to ceiling french windows and pushed the ceiling up whilst sisal flooring offset with a metallic gold rug helped bounce light around the room and gave layers of interesting texture.
