Queen Anne Kitchen Storage and Display

Traditional Kitchen, Chicago

View of upper wall cabinets with open storage and display. In a Queen Anne styled house originally built the same year as the World’s Columbian Exposition(1893), the existing kitchen was remodeled to bring it back into a period appropriate finish level. The design approach agreed upon was a “kitchen of accretion” developed over time which included varying cabinet finishes and detailing, art glass inspired by windows elsewhere in the home, current appliances, and period specific hardware and fixtures. Custom cabinetry design and product selections by gordon architecture, inc. in collaboration with the home owner.
