Camilla Kelly
We were overjoyed to work on this fabulous Georgian country manor house - the former country retreat of the likes of Mick Jagger, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Blake and Sylvia Plath. (It is said that the lyrics to 'Maggie May' were penned in this very house). Camilla was asked by the owners to help turn this stately space into a contemporary yet cosy family home with a midcentury feel. There was a small element of structural work and a full refurbishment requirement. Furniture was a sourced from a variety of midcentury and contemporary sellers in London, Amsterdam and Berlin. The end result is a sophisticated, calm and inviting space suitable for modern family living.

Guest Bedroom in 10,000 sq. ft Manor House in St. Michael's Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay.Coastal Estate in St. Michael's Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay. House was designed after the original 1770's house on the property. Home was designed to be a formal house but was now being used as a weekend retreat. Ann Kenkel had to decorate the house in a manner which was coastal enough so owner's felt like they were on vacation yet formal enough for the style of the house.
AK found the house filled with wallpaper from the 1980's. Wallpaper from every room was removed and all trim had to be painted a neutral color.
The formal dining room only had one entry. AK opened up a second entry into the dining room which provided a view of the Chesapeake Bay.

The apartments are part of a Grade II listed Georgian house in the heart of Clitheroe. The building has been used as offices for the best part of the past two decades and it needed a complete refurb to bring it into the 21st century and restoring the beautiful period features.

Many Georgian buildings are grand in stature and require a suitably well-proportioned structure when designing a glazed addition.
To Provide stable functioning doors, it is often necessary to incorporate a clerestory panel above to achieve the required height. these often include decorative architectural detail, enhancing the overall appearance of the building.
As with all our joinery detail, we use a slender 26mm glazing style, creating 'true divided lights' housing individual double-glazed units.

Eidolon House is the Winner of the Sunday Times British Homes Awards 2014 for Best One-off House.
It is believed to be the first mirror-clad house in London.
Although located adjacent to the historic Highgate Cemetery and in a Conservation Area, Swains Lane has a tradition of innovative contemporary architecture. No. 85 (next door) by Eldridge Smerin Architects won a RIBA award in 2009 and John Winter’s 1969 Corten steel clad house at No. 81 is one of the few Modern houses to be Grade II* listed.
Eidolon House builds on the tradition of glass and steel Modernist housing started by Winter. Here in contrast to Winter’s use of rusted Corten steel, the renovated house is clad in mirror polished stainless steel reflecting the trees opposite – highlighting the changing of the seasons. Inside the house further celebrates its fantastic setting with large windows and an open-plan top floor overlooking the overgrown cemetery beyond.
The project name refers to the reflective cladding and cemetery context – Eidolon means phantom, apparition, double image and idealised.
