One Source ContractingThis Federal house was originally built in 1780 and the current owner reached out to the One Source Team with a desire to add more natural light and modern style, all while bringing back some long-lost historical character.
Present features include a copper-plated cast-iron fireplace complemented by a black marble mantle, significant crown and base moldings, and window trims that were added back as a nod to the home’s origins. In addition, the first floor staircase was moved from the center of the room to the corner in order to create an open concept living space for entertainment purposes.

Kimball Starr Interior DesignSan Francisco loft contemporary living room, which mixes a mid-century modern sofa with Moroccan influences in a patterned ottoman used as a coffee table, and teardrop-shaped brass pendant lamps. Fawn Interiors StudioOur second project for this thatched cottage (approx age: 250 years old) was all the reception rooms. The colour palette had been set by the kitchen project and it was our task to create synergy between the rooms but, as one room leads on to another, create distinctive areas. For the sitting room, our inspiration was private members' clubs...spaces where you can kick back, relax, enjoy an evening tipple of something smooth; listen to music, read a book or catch up on the day's news. Large leather wing-back chairs were softened by throws and copper accents. We brought through the same industrial light as the kitchen to create synergy and give a twist to the very traditional inglenook fireplace.

Altura ArchitectsThe main level at this modern farmhouse has a great room and den bookended by stone fireplaces. The kitchen is at the center of the main living spaces where we designed multiple islands for smart base cabinet storage which still allows visual connection from the kitchen to all spaces. The open living spaces serve the owner’s desire to create a comfortable environment for entertaining during large family gatherings. There are plenty of spaces where everyone can spread out whether it be eating or cooking, watching TV or just chatting by the fireplace. The main living spaces also act as a privacy buffer between the master suite and a guest suite.

DecorbuddiWe chose a beautiful inky blue for this London Living room to feel fresh in the daytime when the sun streams in and cozy in the evening when it would otherwise feel quite cold. The colour also complements the original fireplace tiles.
We took the colour across the walls and woodwork, including the alcoves, and skirting boards, to create a perfect seamless finish. Balanced by the white floor, shutters and lampshade there is just enough light to keep it uplifting and atmospheric.
The final additions were a complementary green velvet sofa, luxurious touches of gold and brass and a glass table and mirror to make the room sparkle by bouncing the light from the metallic finishes across the glass and onto the mirror
