We hired Okanagan Custom Homes/Joe Wackerbauer to build our retirement-dream home in rural Penticton in 2017/2018. We are extremely pleased with the final product and their work. Okanagan Custom Homes was hired to renovate an existing bar/restaurant space into a functioning commercial craft distillery. On my own I had struggled to get the professionals needed and the fair prices required to undertake this project. When we decided to lift our house and add a basement, I got 5 quotes from various builders in our area. I explained our needs and our financial constraints. We knew we didnt have the capital to completely finish our project but had a goal to do as much as possible within our budget. Most of the builders were close to double what we anticipated and either told us outright that what we wanted couldnt be done or they didnt wish to work within our parameters. Lifting a house and adding 1200 additional sq ft. was a daunting undertaking and we envisioned all the horror scenarios you see on hgtv. Thankfully, Okanagan Custom homes listened to what we wanted to do and was willing to work with us to achieve our goal. Joe provided us with regular invoices so we could stay on top of the costs and we got our house raised, dug out, put back down and framed in and plumbed within our budget. His guys always tidied up the mess before the end of day and were always able to answer my many questions. It took some time after they did the hard stuff but we now have a fully functional 2 spare rooms, family room, new furnace and laundry room as well as a second bathroom. I would not hesitate to recommend Okanagan Custom Homes to anyone who asks me about our reno.
