We would thoroughly recommend having Katy to work with you on a home design project. She is empathetic, thorough and efficient and leaves no stone unturned in helping to finish a project to your, and her, satisfaction. Any challenges which arise in relation to fabric availability, standard of work or late delivery of materials are dealt with in a most professional manner until client and designer are happy with the outcome. Our project was completed in Autumn 2021 and we have been delighted with the result, with many compliments from friends and family. Katy helped us with a suitable colour palette and design in keeping with our 1930s sitting room and our style of furniture, organising sample swatches of fabric for curtains, cushions and re-upholstery fabric, guidance for table lamps and uplighter lamp. She arranged for our sofas and armchairs to be re-upholstered at a very competitive price, as well as arranging for curtains and cushions to be made. She pointed out where the room could be improved by disposing of some furniture and was involved in helping us hone the detail of a bespoke unit of furniture for the television, sound system and other storage being made by a local company whom we had commissioned to design the unit. Throughout our weeks from initial meeting to completion, Katy was nothing but respectful, friendly, courteous, patient and professional. We are delighted that we were able to work with such a talented designer.

My husband and I have had the very best experience with Katy. She's been very patient and held our hand all the way from beginning to end. Katy is an amazing, graceful and creative interior designer and she has the kind of depth of knowledge, flexibility and sensibility that you would hope for. During the course of our design process we have changed our mind countless times about which furniture or colours to pick but she was very gracious about it and offered new alternatives, mood boards etc to suit our new direction without so much as raising an eyebrow. She's respected our wishes and has intuitively guided us to suit our tastes and brought up suggestions we would never have picked ourselves but we ended up loving them! This is the very first house I purchased and I've started on the right foot with having Katy by my side. I have basically come from no knowledge about this stuff whatsoever and she has been great at explaining what works and why, but then left the choice up to me. Her professionalism has really inspired us with new ideas and a better way to layout our home. Highly recommended.

We found Katy a pleasure to work with. She took time to listen to all our requirements and made sure she understood exactly what we wanted whilst using her expertise to bring our vision to life. There have been challenges due to the current COVID situation but Katy has kept us informed at all time’s and has still made sure everything has been done in a timely fashion. I was looking to add more character to an existing kitchen as the layout and décor was starting to feel dated. I found Howson Design through their website and was very glad that I chose to contact them and meet Katy for a consultation. I found Howson Design after hearing Katy on BBC Radio Notts and was very glad that we did. My husband and I were looking to redecorate our master bedroom but found it hard to agree on what we wanted. Katy was great from start to finish; and we loved the mood board that she created for us. Katy’s help and advice have been invaluable throughout this process. We were at a loss as to how to make both our snug and adjoining hallway/stairs more vibrant and enjoyable spaces. Katy was very patient, taking the time to sit and get to know us and understand what we wanted. This more personal touch has really allowed Katy to bring elements of our personalities to the spaces, but also cut through some of the more generic tastes that we had; and dare I say were scared to let go of. But I am so glad that Katy was able to show us things we would never have thought of and allowed us to be more adventurous. We couldn’t be happier with the end results and would definitely use Katy again, and recommend her to others.

Katy was so patient with me - I couldn’t decide what to have in the four rooms. Katy has the most amazing fabrics and suppliers. Katy made sure that she really understood my needs. Our kitchen was in desperate need of renovating but we decided we needed some professional advice. Luckily for us we chanced to read an article about Howson Design and decided to book Katy to assess our requirements. Katy was very professional, knowledgeable and reliable. Due to her friendly and approachable manner communication with her was easy. She was patient listening to our requirements, nothing was too much trouble. She was respectful of our thoughts and ideas but found ways to improve on them as well as adding her fresh ideas. The provision of visuals of kitchen units and accessories, paint charts, fabric swatches and tiles was truly inspired. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Katy.
