We commissioned D-P-Q for a small kitchen extension and loft conversion. We wanted a design that was contemporary and beautifully detailed. They went to great lengths to understand our taste and expectations before producing plans and models that met them. It was always a pleasure dealing with the team and they were generous with their time, despite this being a small project.

Working with Jon Dallas on the design of our loft and downstairs extension was an absolute pleasure. Jon offered innovative, practical and unique ideas; all within our scope and budget. Dallas-Pierce-Quintero also offered a thorough understanding of the building and planning requirements and were able to advise us on a very tricky planning application. Throughout the project Jon was also on hand to answer queries and offer sound advice. I would absolutely recommend Dallas-Piece-Quintero.

I approached Dallas-Pierce-Quintero to consider the potential of my 1 bedroom garden flat, which already had planning permission for an extension but I felt the plans did not make the best use of the space. They began by listening to how I wanted to use the space and re-drew the plans using the space much more efficiently, maximising light into the living areas and framing the best views into the garden. Best of all, the new proposals were able to fit in things that I had previously thought I had to rule out because of space constraints or budget. Dallas-Pierce-Quintero then worked closely with the contractor to ensure that the construction was carried out true to the design, and I remain delighted with the result.

We worked with DPQ to convert two old garden sheds into a contemporary workspace. An EPDM skin and charred wood finish sits sympathetically alongside our Grade II listed property, despite its contemporary look, in the corner of our garden. The Pool House as it’s known has provided an invaluable workspace for up to three people, including shower and bathroom area and spectacular planted roof for the neighbours to enjoy. From the design, technical specification and interior choices, the team were on hand throughout, guiding our contractors and ensuring the project was finished to the highest standard. We could not have been happier and it has been a life changing investment.

David designed my development and managed, against the odds, to get planning consent. He listened to what I wanted to achieve and was full of suggestions, also he was not afraid to advise when my “wants” were unrealistic from a practical or aesthetic viewpoint. Since consent was granted Tommaso has been involved with the detailed plans and the tender process. I have no hesitation in recommending the services of DPQ as a practice, nor of David and Tommaso individually.

The DPQ team were very imaginative with my loft conversions and showed me a number of layouts that could work for the space. Thank you for all your work and imagination, but also thoughts about the existing structure and how to work around it

What a great job the team did on our side return extension. They listened to what we wanted, came up with great solutions and kept on top of the works really well. Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again when we have another project.

We had a bit of an idea - we wanted to turn a second floor flat roof into a usable roof terrace. So easy to say, not so easy to achieve - so we turned to DPQ who more than delivered for us. They navigated through a contentious planning application (in a conservation area) and brought real creativity to our idea. We were just thinking a simple deck, they came up with an enclosed viewing space, so we could enjoy 'being outside' even in the winter, as well as a deck. And rather than typical materials with little aesthetic value, they came up with a clever charred timber screened solution. Creative problem solvers, down to earth, i.e. speak your language, and value for money. Wouldn't hesitate to use again.

My intent for Courtyard House was to create a modest, light and sustainable home. The experience with DPQ was collaborative, engaging and professional, resulting in a space that is calm and adaptable with wonderful sightlines, changing light and multiple places to sit and enjoy the building and courtyards. I would happily recommend them.
