FANTASTIC SERVICE. PARTICULARLY BLOWN AWAY BY LEVEL OF AFTERCARE SUPPORT. Sue and Donatas from Ecclesall Design provided a fantastic service from start to finish. We loved Donatas' approach to providing outside the box thinking with multiple design ideas that we were guided to hone, and the quality of the work was always exceptional. It was however the after-sales service we experienced (which takes place mostly via liaison with Sue) which has been nothing short of incredible. Our building plans became drawn out for several reasons which meant our submission for planning permission came 2.5 years after we'd had our ‘final’ drawings in hand. By this point we felt we were essentially to Sue and Donatas a fully paid up, historic customer. We were unaware of the 'back end' of the design process including submission to planning, liaison with building control and all the to and fro this involves. The level of ongoing support we received from Sue during this aspect of the project was amazing. She was highly responsive to our many phone calls and emails and went out of her way to provide information to help support us dealing with questions from our neighbours. She was very pro-active and took a lead during all the liaison with the planning office, only involving us where we needed to be. She was in tune with where we were up to and also seems to be well connected, able to draw on professional networks around planning and building control to provide answers to difficult questions. On several occasions our supposed ‘final’ designs went back to Donatas for revisions and he did these really quickly for us, again to the same high standard. Disclaimer: we don't have extensive experience with other architects. Nevertheless we’ve been around long enough to know that the after care service provided by Ecclesall Design felt far more than just a ‘run of the mill’ offering. This standard of professionalism, integrity and commitment to customer experience is something you don’t realise the importance of till it isn’t there. The way Ecclesall Design seem to run their company by placing such importance on this clearly speaks of the personal values of Sue and Donatas. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

I reached out looking for some advice about some house renovation plans - with the scale of the work we have planned, Ecclesall Design were honest and open that it wouldn't be cost-effective for us to carry out a full survey, but still went went out of their way to provide some helpful advice and options we hadn't considered. Sue was really helpful, friendly and prompt - would definitely recommend getting in touch even if you're not exactly sure what you're looking for!

Without Ecclesall Design's expert support and advice and 24/7 commitment, we would not have secured our planning permission and successfully overcome the obstacle in the path of that final approval.

We were recommended Eccleshall Design by friends who used them a year before. Our experience with Sue and Donatas has been excellent and they have been particularly understanding and flexible around unforeseen circumstances from our side (resulting in a delay of proceedings for over 18 months, for which they would have had every right to get a bit annoyed at us!). We particularly valued the variety and thought that went into different proposed options (about 6 initial designs). As we went into the process of commissioning an architect we thought we knew what we wanted design-wise. On at least one of the other quotes we obtained it stated the offering was only for 1 design to be drawn. Had we gone down this route we would not have resulted in the design we eventually arrived at, which draws on different aspects of the initial options. We’re really happy with the end result. The communication is great with Sue and Donatas, they are always responsive and very professional. Thank you both, we would have no hesitation in recommending you.

We found Ecclesall Design via a Google search and decided to go with Sue and Donatas based on their initial response to us in comparison with that of another architect we approached. We haven't once regretted that decision as at every step they have gone above and beyond, and made the process so much easier and more enjoyable than it might have been. As new homeowners, we had no previous experience to bring to our desire for an extension to our little semi, and Sue/Donatas have fielded an unending stream of questions from us about how everything works which has been invaluable. In terms of the design process, they really listened to what we wanted, in great detail, at the start and during the presentation meeting, and ultimately have come up with something that we are really happy with and are excited to take forward to the next step. They also took great pains to explain why things wouldn't work or why some things would work better than others. And through it all their enthusiasm for our little project and the effort they have put into it has been fantastic. Highly recommended for anyone considering an extension to their house.

I cannot speak highly enough of Ecclesall Design. We approached them 2-3 years ago seeking advice on how to deal with defects to our house, exacerbated by a very exposed position. The prepared solution involved significant building work. They obtained Building Regulations approval and provided an upgraded specification for the work that went beyond building regulations requirements in order to better address the exposed location. We had lots of questions and Sue Humphreys answered all our emails promptly with detailed answers and advice. Then covid hit and the building work was delayed until September 2022 due to the backlog of work it created for our builder. Once it started we quickly encountered a problem with the Councils Building Control who were now asking for an approach to an aspect of the work that we felt would compromise the objective. After struggling with this problem for a few days I contacted Sue for advice, not really feeling I should have much expectation as it had been a couple of years since she completed the task we had hired her for. Sue responded immediately. She held discussions with the builder and Council over a couple of days and agreed a way forward that was satisfactory to all parties. We were delighted. Sue even thanked me for giving her the chance to resolve the problem. Ecclesall Design have provided great service right through our project.

A knowledgeable, responsive, listening company that really helped us to turn our ideas into plans. We are very pleased with the results. We would be happy to recommend to others. They showed lots of patience as we worked through options A-K!

These guys have done an amazing job getting us planning permission for a creative design on a tricky plot. Sue and Donatas worked as a great team and listened carefully to everything we were hoping for and the things we were worried about. We choose Ecclesall Design because of their statement 100% success in planning permission and our project gave them a challenge but they achieved what no one thought was possible. They supported us through every step of the planning process and came up with new ideas to make sure the project got the recognition it deserves. They created for us a ‘Grand Design’ on a piece of land vacant for the past 40 years, in a sought after area of Sheffield! We are looking forward to start building and have them cut the ribbon to our new home!
