About Us

Feneley Studio is an architecture and design practice specialising in contemporary residential design. Based in St Albans, and working throughout Hertfordshire, London, the Home Counties and beyond, projects include housing developments, new one-off houses, bespoke extensions and remodelling of existing homes. The studio was established by Simon Feneley who provides a personal service to each and every project. Simon has worked with several award-winning practices including RIBA Gold Medal winner Edward Cullinan, where he was a co-Director at the practice for over eight years. At Feneley Studio we consider every project to be unique, requiring a bespoke design that not only responds to site context, but one which involves our clients throughout each stage of the process - from the initial design concept, to developing the design and obtaining planning permission, to the final built detail - ensuring exceptional, high quality delivery. The studio has an excellent track-record of securing planning approvals for individual homeowners, those looking to build their own home, and commercial / developer clients. Our success in securing planning permissions on challenging sites, including those in Conservation Areas or in sensitive locations, has established our reputation as a practice that is able to unlock the full potential of these sites to deliver well designed and detailed buildings. We are currently working with a number of private clients on such schemes, located in both urban and rural settings.
